Quilting is charged by the square inch, so your figure comes from your quilt's own measurements rather than a size bracket. If your quilt falls between two rows, it costs between two rows. Medium density is the most common choice. Batting and binding are separate and listed below. Our maximum quilting width is 100 inches.

Batting is charged per inch of your quilt's shorter side plus 8 inches, because that is how it comes off the roll and how much we need to load your quilt on the frame.
Binding
Machine-sewn binding is $0.30 per linear inch, charged around the full perimeter of your quilt. It is optional - plenty of quilters bind their own.
Shipping
You pay shipping both ways, and we charge exactly what the carrier charges us with nothing added. We can send you a shipping label so posting your quilt is easy, and your finished quilt comes back via FedEx, fully insured.

A worked example. You have finished a 60 by 80 inch throw. You want it quilted edge to edge at medium density, using our 80/20 blend batting, and you plan to bind it yourself.
The quilting is 60 × 80, which is 4800 square inches, at $0.035 per square inch. That is $168.00. Batting is charged on the shorter side plus 8 inches, so 60 + 8 = 68 inches at $0.44 per inch, or $29.92.
Total: $197.92, plus shipping both ways at cost. Your $25 deposit comes off that, leaving $172.92 due. Adding binding would put 280 inches at $0.30 on top, or $84.00.
Why we post a real number
Gudrun sent her own quilts out to longarmers for years before we started doing this ourselves, and the thing that frustrated her most was never getting a straight answer on timing. Not a long wait. An unknown one.
That matters more than it sounds. If a quilt is a gift, it has a date. If it is for a show, a bed, a new baby, a wedding, it has a date. You cannot plan around "sometime in the next few months", and most quilters have been told exactly that at least once.
So we post our current lead time on the site and update it every working day. It moves when our queue moves. If it goes up, you see it go up before you commit, not after we already have your quilt.
